Honey Badger/Shirt Tales Mashup Print for Gallery 1988 "Memes" Show
… and it was the last time a new member was ever welcomed into the Shirt Tales.
My piece for Gallery 1988’s “Memes” show at 7020 Melrose in LA (May 4-26). The printing on this came out so sweet … it’s a matte-laminated offset print, and the words on the shirts and all of the blood are glossy. The printers really NAILED it.
My likeness of Honey Badger is based on a dude I was once in line behind at Cedar Point ... he had a pretty sweet mullet and a blue muscle shirt with the words "I test drove the REO Speedwagon" on the back. This was like 15 years after REO's heyday.
The more I look at this, the more I desperately want it to be a Robot Chicken segment.
